Ancak kompozisyonda Timo Kahlen’i cezbeden öğe, her an resim düzleminin dışına çıkarak izleyiciye dokunacakmış gibi duran eldir.
As an ideal example of the woman-nature relationship in Tomur Atagök’s art, Orange Beauty II takes the image of the strong woman from the goddesses and brings it back to earth. For Atagök, every woman is already a goddess, and just like nature, she is both compassionate and resistant. But for Timo Kahlen, the seductive element in the composition is the hand placed as if it will transcend the painting surface and touch the spectator at any moment. This time, Kahlen photographs the hand motif he regularly uses in his oeuvre as a dedication to Atagök, imagining it to be the artist’s hand touching her own painting. Evoking concepts such as transience, touch, tangibility and presence, the photograph is also accompanied by a sound installation. And the raw and grainy sound created with the binaural recordings of a matchstick held by Kahlen through its burst and extinction further deepens this sense of transience.
